Lighting

Lighting whether it is natural / artificial is one of the most important aspects of decoration.

In well-lit spaces we can use any color or shade we prefer whether it be strong or soft. In dark spaces I recommend soft/light shade and contrasts.

Spaces with South , West or South-westerly direction have a natural influx of orangey yellowish light and so are generally cosier.



Spaces with North, East, or North-easterly direction have a natural influx of pure white light and are cooler looking.


If you want to give an atmosphere of the past. The color and shades of the fabrics you will use should contain a little black. ( e.g. . grey-green - grey-brown - grey-blue e.t.c.)


If you want to create a modern atmosphere. The colors and shades of the fabrics you use should be bright. (e.g. red-carmine - blue-royal - pink - yellow - black e.t.c.)


We all know that pastel shades/contrasts of fabrics on furniture create a romantic atmosphere. Works of art are a must as well as the right carpets and curtains. Large sofas should generally be one colour or with small patterns or slight colour contrasts. Meanwhile with chairs / armchairs we are free to do as we please.

 

Beware that the quality of the fabrics used in one space should match match among themselves. Also you must recognize that not all fabrics suit all styles of furniture.

 

Mirrors are a must.
Special attention should be paid to openings (e.g. doors / windows / wardrobes / balcony doors). So that their passage way is not blocked by furniture.

 

 

Similar objects should be placed together and remember CANDLES / BOOKS / PHOTOGRAPHS / FRESH FLOWERS are a must to create a warm and friendly atmosphere.

 

If you want to create a professional office the general image should be practical with a neutral color scheme with bright lighting at all times and the requisite technology.

 

To create the right garden or balcony we must:

1. Recognize how we want to use it.
2. What is permissible to plant regarding the weather conditions and direction.
